Corporate Compliance & Business Ethics Code

The legal and ethical standards binding every director, employee, sub-agent and representative of AM EDU Resources — published in full, so students, institutions and partners can hold us to it.

Section 1

Purpose & Core Scope

This Corporate Compliance Code establishes the legal and ethical standards for all directors, employees, sub-agents and representatives of AM EDU Resources.

Our business covers local and international student recruitment, academic advising, and the coordination of Work-Based Learning (WBL) programs in Australia and across Asia — including partnerships with Signet Institute.

Every representative of AM EDU Resources must strictly adhere to this Code in all operations across Malaysia, Australia and other operating regions. Local custom, commercial pressure and competitor behaviour are not grounds for departing from it.

Who this Code binds

  • Directors and officers of AM EDU Resources
  • All employees, full-time, part-time and contract
  • Sub-agents and appointed representatives in every market
  • Any third party acting on behalf of AM EDU Resources

Section 2

Ethical Student Recruitment & Counselling

AM EDU Resources is committed to transparency, honesty and student welfare in all recruitment and counselling activities.

Accurate representation

Representatives must provide accurate, up-to-date and truthful information regarding academic courses, entry requirements, fees, campus facilities and living expenses. Where a figure is subject to change — tuition, living costs, visa charges — representatives must identify the source and currency of the information rather than presenting an estimate as fixed.

Genuine student assessment

Staff must conduct thorough preliminary screenings to ensure applicants meet both the academic criteria and the genuine student intent requirements for domestic and overseas placements. Where an applicant does not meet those criteria, the applicant must be told directly, and alternatives discussed, rather than an application being lodged that is expected to fail.

Prohibition of misleading guarantees

No employee or agent may guarantee course admission, visa issuance, post-study work rights or permanent residency outcomes to prospective students or their families. This prohibition applies to every form of communication, including verbal assurances, social media, messaging apps and third-party marketing.

Academic integrity

AM EDU Resources strictly prohibits assisting students with fraudulent documentation, academic dishonesty or falsified financial statements. Representatives must withdraw from an application rather than participate in one.

Strictly prohibited

  • Guaranteeing admission, visa issuance, post-study work rights or permanent residency
  • Misrepresenting course content, entry requirements, fees, campus facilities or living costs
  • Preparing, altering, endorsing or knowingly submitting fraudulent documentation
  • Producing or arranging falsified financial statements or bank letters
  • Assisting with, or participating in, any form of academic dishonesty
  • Coaching a student to misrepresent their study intentions or personal circumstances
  • Concealing a fee, charge or commission from a student or their family

Section 3

Australian WBL & Signet Institute Program Compliance

International placement programs — specifically Work-Based Learning pathways in Australia with Signet Institute — require strict adherence to cross-border legal frameworks.

Immigration & visa adherence

Recruitment practices must align with Australian Department of Home Affairs regulations and the Genuine Student (GS) requirement. Representatives must prepare complete and truthful applications that reflect a student’s real circumstances and intentions, and must not represent that AM EDU Resources can influence, expedite or secure any visa decision.

Partner alignment

All promotional materials, application workflows and student placements must strictly comply with the official agreements established with Signet Institute and registered Australian training providers. Program details, intakes and entry requirements must be confirmed with the partner before being represented to a student.

Student welfare & protection

AM EDU Resources upholds a duty of care for students transitioning to Australia, ensuring clear pre-departure orientations, transparent accommodation guidance and fair workplace learning terms. Where a student’s welfare or safety is at risk, representatives must escalate immediately.

Fair workplace practices

WBL arrangements must strictly comply with Australian workplace laws, ensuring student-interns are placed in legitimate, safe work environments with proper supervision and fair treatment. Hours, learning outcomes and supervision arrangements must be documented in writing before a placement begins.

Minimum standard for every WBL placement

  • A legitimate, verifiable host organisation relevant to the qualification
  • A named supervisor with genuine capacity to supervise and induct
  • Hours, dates, learning outcomes and terms agreed in writing before commencement
  • A safe work environment meeting Australian work health and safety obligations
  • Fair treatment consistent with Australian workplace law
  • A confidential channel for the student to raise concerns without penalty

Section 4

Anti-Corruption, Bribery & Financial Integrity

AM EDU Resources maintains zero tolerance for any form of bribery, extortion or unethical financial transaction.

Prohibition of unofficial fees

Employees must never request, offer, accept or give bribes, kickbacks or secret commissions to educational institution officials, visa officers or third-party recruiters. This applies regardless of local custom, competitive pressure or the size of the payment, and regardless of whether the payment is described as a gift, facilitation fee, processing fee or expediting charge.

Transparent fee structures

All consultancy fees, service charges and institutional commission arrangements must be documented in writing and accurately recorded in official financial accounts. Students must receive a written schedule of fees before engaging our services.

Gifts and hospitality

Nominal gifts of cultural courtesy are permitted only if they are inexpensive, lawful, transparent, and do not influence professional judgment or institutional decisions. Where there is any doubt, the gift must be declined or escalated to Management before acceptance.

Permitted, with conditions

  • Nominal gifts of cultural courtesy that are inexpensive and lawful
  • Gifts that are transparent and can be disclosed without embarrassment
  • Ordinary business hospitality proportionate to the occasion
  • Anything that cannot reasonably influence professional judgment
  • Documented commission arrangements recorded in official accounts

Strictly prohibited

  • Bribes or kickbacks to institution officials or visa officers
  • Secret commissions to or from third-party recruiters
  • Any payment intended to influence an admission or visa decision
  • Unofficial “facilitation”, “processing” or “expediting” fees
  • Cash payments outside a documented fee schedule
  • Fees or commissions concealed from a student or their family
  • Extortion, or acceding to a demand for an improper payment

Section 5

Data Privacy & Confidentiality

Handling the sensitive personal, financial and academic records of prospective students requires rigorous privacy standards.

Data collection & consent

Personal details must be collected solely for recruitment, admission and visa processing purposes, following explicit written consent from the applicant. Data must not be repurposed for unrelated marketing or shared with third parties outside the scope of that consent.

Cross-border privacy protection

Student records transferred between Malaysia and Australian entities — including Signet Institute and immigration databases — must comply with applicable privacy laws, including the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information security

All digital and physical files containing student credentials, passport copies and financial records must be stored securely and restricted to authorised personnel only. Documents must not be stored on personal devices, personal cloud accounts or unsecured messaging services.

Enforcement, Whistleblowing & Reporting

Adherence to this Code is a mandatory condition of employment and representation with AM EDU Resources.

Employee duties

Every staff member must read, acknowledge and comply with this Code annually. Acknowledgement is recorded in writing and is a condition of continued employment or representation.

Reporting channels

Employees, students or partners who observe potential violations of this Code, fraudulent activity or illegal practices are required to report them directly to Management at compliance@ameduresources.com.my, or via designated internal channels.

Protection against retaliation

AM EDU Resources guarantees strict confidentiality and protection against dismissal, demotion or harassment for any individual reporting suspected misconduct in good faith.

Disciplinary action

Violations of this Code will lead to disciplinary proceedings, up to and including immediate termination of contract and legal referral where applicable.

Report a concern — confidentially, and without fear

Reporting channel

If you have observed a potential violation of this Code, fraudulent activity or illegal practice, you are required to report it. This applies to employees, sub-agents, students, institutional partners and host organisations alike.

How to report — email Management directly at compliance@ameduresources.com.my, or use the designated internal channels if you are a member of staff or an appointed sub-agent.

What to include, if you can — what happened, when and where, who was involved, and any documents or messages that support the report. A report is still valid without all of this; report it anyway.

Your protection. AM EDU Resources guarantees strict confidentiality and protection against dismissal, demotion or harassment for any individual reporting suspected misconduct in good faith. For students, raising a concern will not affect your application, your placement, your assessment or your standing with us. Retaliating against a person for reporting in good faith is itself a breach of this Code and will be treated as a disciplinary matter.

If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. In Australia, dial 000.

Annual acknowledgement

Every director, employee, sub-agent and representative of AM EDU Resources must read, acknowledge and comply with this Code every year. Acknowledgement is recorded in writing and is a mandatory condition of employment and representation.

For staff and sub-agents

Read this Code in full, then return your signed acknowledgement to Management. If any part of it is unclear, or you are unsure whether something you have been asked to do complies with it, ask before you act — not afterwards.
